In the United States about 3.9 million dogs are surrendered to the shelter system each year, many of them because of misconduct outdoors that their owners don’t know how to handle. We want to lower that number. Walking Doggies provides resources to help dog owners manage their dog’s behavior and inspire them to become well-mannered members of their communities. We want dogs to remain in their homes and out of the shelter system. Better dog walks will deepen the bond dogs share with their owners. That is our ultimate goal.
Our resources include:
- Online dog training courses
- Articles by credentialed professionals to help you manage your dog’s outdoor behavior
- Books written by recognized dog trainers
- Videos with step-by-step dog training techniques
- Podcasts to help you and your dog get the most fun from your time outdoors
- The best, most ethical and earth-friendly dog walking and training gear
- Lists of dog parks, runs and meetups where you and your dog can socialize
- Check out our blog and watch this perennial golden-ager mom try to help her dogs overcome their past and become good canine citizens.
We hope our website is helpful to you and your dog, and we hope that our resources change your dog walks to better dog walks.
